
The Humber Hawks men's curling team has won its first-ever national title.
The hardworking team defeated Sault College 8-4 to win the 2016 CCAA National Men's Curling Championship in London, ON over the weekend. For their win, the team was named OCAA Team of the Week.
It was the cherry on top of an extremely successful Hawks season across the board.
In total, teams took home six gold, two silver and two bronze medals nationally, as well as two Player of the Year, one Coach of the Year and eight Athlete of the Week titles.
Provincially, Hawk teams won 12 gold, five silver and six bronze medals. Individually, they scored three for Player of the Year, won Overall Rookie of the Year and All-Rookie Team, 35 Academic All Star titles, 13 Tournament All Star titles, four for Coach of the Year, 25 Athlete of the Week titles and 17 Team of the Week titles.
